The question is whether Platner has the judgment to be a senator, and how does this story fit into that? To be fair: I can forgive someone for being a stupid, young marine making stupid, young marine decisions. I can even, maybe, forgive him for LYING about how stupid he was when he was young. But the lies are piling up. His story is bogus, and he has other...issues that I simply believe show that his current character is not good enough to belong in the Senate.

I think it's fine to draw an analogy between Platner and someone dropping the heinous word that no melanin deficient person can say. And to be fair, most people are not Nazis, especially most of the people who are called Nazis on social media. At best, it is very bad optics, he should have gotten in front of it when the issue was raised. He didn't, and this has gotten worse over time. Of course people are going to dig up other things about him, it's politics. And it could end whatever career he was considering having in government, which would be his own fault.
Random observation. The toy of the "Skull Ship" of the Superman villain Brainiac, looks a lot like that German Panzer Totenkopf. I wonder if it's coincidence, or if the designer was deliberately using that as inspiration for a supervillain's vehicle. Hopefully this doesn't make anyone who has that toy even as a adult, a secret Nazi.
